Yes, Rithmic will do disconnections, when using an invalid symbol. Rather than a graceful reject. The whole concept of a disconnect, is just simply plain dumb. So they think they are keeping their system safe. All they are doing is introducing another reconnect. And numerous messages, to get the correct order states and other information.
