Is there a list of settings that need to be changed to be complatable in Linux. I changed the Global>>Special>> USe Single Network Receive Buffer to yes and changed to standard compression. Is there anything else that needs to be changed? Thanks |

This is the only setting that you need to set: Sierra Chart Server Settings: Use Single Network Receive Buffer for Linux Compatibility (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Special) Nothing else. Although that setting may not make any difference no matter how it is set. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Can compression be left at default?

I have compression set to standard but receive this message "2026-02-01 18:13:42.313 | File compression not supported on file system. C:\SierraChartApteros\Data\ESH26.scid. Windows error code 50: Request not supported." Is it of concern? |

I can say I have had Use single network receive buffer set to No since Wine 9.3, and there have been no performance issues.

@allons_trading I thought Sierra suggested to Yes for Linux, wonder what does this setting do exactly? |

@Tony Yes, there was a period of time around Wine 9.0 where there were performance issues seen with the multiple network buffers SC uses. SC introduced the single network buffer option to resolve these issues when running under Wine. Since Wine 9.3, I've never had this option set to Yes as whatever change in Wine that caused the network issues were resolved with Wine 9.3. YMMV, but it's probably been over two years I've been running SC in Linux with this option set to No.

Do you both have compression set to "No Compression"?

@allons_trading, thanks man, I switched it to No, and will keep an eye on it. (I am running Wine 10.0) @User165981, I just realized, you might refer to "Real Time Data Compression", I set it to High Compression, but the error message is not related to real time data, it is about file compression, since we are using ext4, file compression is not supported. Go: Global Settings -> Advanced Service Settings -> General
and set 2 options in "File Compression" to 'No"

I set Global Settings -> Advanced Service Settings -> General>> both options in "File Compression" to 'No" I set Global>> Sierra Chart Server setting to standard compression. I now get the error again. |
