[User Discussion] - Chart jumps up and down when scrolling or zooming – how to fix it?

Hello,
I’d like to ask for help regarding an issue with my charts.
When I scroll the chart horizontally or when I zoom in and out, the whole chart keeps jumping up and down.
I only use the mouse for zooming and resizing, and I also grab the chart with the mouse to move it left and right — and that’s exactly when it sometimes starts jumping like a frog.
I don’t use any keyboard shortcuts.
I have no idea which setting might be causing this.
I’ve already tried many different configurations, and nothing seems to fix it — or it works only for a short moment, and then the chart starts jumping again.
I know this is probably a very simple question, but these simple ones tend to be the hardest.
Thank you in advance for any advice.

We are not sure exactly what you mean by "jumping".

If you have your Chart Scale set to "Automatic" then the chart will adjust as it is moved to keep the visible bars at that time within view.

The same is true for other scale types, depending on the particular choice, in that the chart will adjust as it is scrolled back and forth based on the particular setting.

What is your "Scale Range" set to?

You are using a "Constant Range" scale with a Mode of "Keep Last Bar Within View". As such, your chart will always keep the last bar displayed in the chart (the one farthest to the right) to be centered (or wherever you have put it if you have moved the scale). This will cause the other bars to adjust to keep that most recent bar in that position.

Try using the "Automatic" scaling instead of Constant Range and see if that is more to your liking. Or try some of the other settings and see what works best for how you want to work.

The information for these settings is here:
