That particular section talks about more than just simply updating. Also updating in most cases is not going to matter because 99.99 percent of the time an issue like this is going to be on the side of Interactive Brokers. So do you see the Position displayed on the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab at the time you see the position disappear? Did you also contact Interactive Brokers about this? You will need to contact Interactive Brokers about this and find out why they are not sending Trade Position data updates. They will need to resolve the problem for you.
