When you receive a chartbook from someone, then most likely the symbols are not correct for the service you are currently connected to. Every service uses a different symbology, so if the person was using Rithmic when they saved the chartbook, the symbol for the current ES contract would be ESU6.CME. But if you are connected to "SC Data", then the symbol you need is "ESU26-CME". The easiest thing to do is to select "Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service" after you open the chartbook you get from someone else. This will update the symbols to the service you are connected to.
