I just updated to version 2800, from 2695. Been going over some performance recommendations and testing out the timer features. When the OS timer is OFF, I experience a .5-1second freeze in global crosshair cursor about every 5 seconds with rapid cursor movement. And this goes away when I turn the OS timer feature on, it becomes smooth as butter for as long as need be. High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.56 - Global Chart Values Tool / Global Cursor I remember reading this section, that the global crosshair cursor is controlled by the OS. If this is the case it good be a good addition to this section to turn ON OS timer. And that could be a main troubleshooting angle to help identify any problems that people may have with updating, to isolate the things that require the OS.
