What you are doing is fine, it is not impossible. The above response was not considering the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol". You need to adjust the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Currency Value per Tick" for that Chart/Trade Window so that the Currency Value per Tick is for the MES, not the ES.
