When you setup an alert to send an SMS/Email, you are making that change to the particular Alert Number. As such, you just have to ensure that you are using that Alert Number in the specific alert that you are creating.
For example, if you modify Alert #3 to have the SMS/Email, then when you add a Drawing Alert, you need to ensure that the drawing alert is using Alert #3 for when it becomes true.
