If you are going to stay connected to IB, then you need to have the IB software running on the computer to connect to it.

Otherwise, if you are only going to connect once a month, then you need to have the IB software running, make the connection to IB from within Sierra Chart, and then reset Sierra Chart to connect to SC Data - All Services, then you can stop the IB software on that computer as well. Refer to the instructions for this at this link:
