"We are in constant communication with Sierra.
Not really.

From our understanding, they have very few traders set up on it...
258 accounts at this time. Not very few. Not a huge number yet but just slowly building up.

So, we need to see it...as they say more "Battle-tested"....before we can offer to our customers.
Functionality is already extensively battle tested because it consists of existing and core Sierra Chart functionality which is extensively used every day by our users under all kinds of different scenarios. All of the functionality for order and position tracking and management and numerous other related functions, and relaying trading activity to/from users is all built into Sierra Chart and users use it every single day. Already battle tested extensively. Just a lack of understanding on their part.

For example, CQG, Rithmic, and TT....all have been performing order routing services for 20+ years...and they still get issues. So please do not be in a hurry...
We have been doing order routing for 16 years.

We are monitoring....easy to say it all works good with a few users...
How are they doing the monitoring?

once start hitting 1,000+ users...load balances
1000 users will not even remotely cause a loading problem. Not even remotely close. From our perspective we laugh at the concept that 1000 users is going to cause a loading problem.

We have one customer with Edge Clear, who has a server colocated in the same rack as ours, and has 1 mmillisecond round-trip time for submitting orders and getting a response from the exchange.

It would be more like in the range of about 20,000 users that we would begin to see delays in the range of milliseconds, this is all. Before we even get anywhere close to this, there would be distribution of users across servers for safety reasons.

and backup protocols start being tested.
Refer to this thread regarding this:
New Teton Order Routing Service for CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX, FairX, upcoming EUREX

We do not want our customers to be the testers.
Do they really think the 258 accounts there are for test purposes? No not at all. The technology and functionality for the Teton Order Routing Service is long-established and proven. It is not a beta.

It is clear they are just stringing their customers along in order to not lose them. Let the free market and operational fact prevail. If you want to move to Teton, and we do strongly recommend that, then do what you need to do. Make your own decisions based upon facts and requirements and do what is best. Do not be controlled by your broker.
