Hiya,

I have been working on my setup and found that SC has been lagging on me. Dragging charts around, placing and removing orders on the ladder. It has a small delay of half a second to a couple of seconds.

I have been through the "Help topic 30: for High CPU Usage" and adjusted where possible. The only part that confuses me is 30.37 on determining cpu load on Sierrachart.

At this point I have 6 monitors powered by 2 nvidia quadro's so I wouldn't expect it to be a GPU problem.

Each monitor is 1 separate instance to distribute the CPU load as stated in the documentation (6 instances total). Each instance has 2 charts books each with 2 TPO Charts, 1 footprint, 1 range and 1 time chart (5min) and 1 spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has been reduced to the bear minimum of calculations with studies not included if they are not needed.

Ram wise I have 16GB.

CPU wise, I have a AMD Ryzen 5 -3600 6 core processor with 12 threads (runs at 3.81 GHz). When SC is up and running, the CPU produces between 15% and 30% workload. The documentation states that you need to divide 100% by the amount of threads (which is 12), and the number you get is the max amount your CPU can be running at. In my case that would be 100/12 = 8.3. So I could conclude that I need a better CPU that makes sure SC runs under 8% on it. But this seems analogical to me. If the CPU is only used for +-25%, why would a stronger CPU with more cores would be necessary?

Trading now is workable, but the lag is very inconvenient.
Any idea on how to fix this? Like I've said before, I have been through the help topic on High CPU usage and have made adjustments where possible.
(This --> High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often)

Kind regards
