To avoid redownload lot of gigabyte of already downloaded intraday .scid files can I rename them with the new naming style using this method? Yes this can be done. So, for a continuous contract, rename ESH19.scid to ESH19-CME.scid and then change the symbol name in the chartbook with the actual ESZ20-CME , is it possible or there is something that can be wrong? Yes this is correct. Be sure you do this, when disconnected from the data feed and you can only rename files when the charts are closed.
