We have worked with the data provider Barchart for a long time now and the symbology used for the SC Data- All Services Service in Sierra Chart is based on Barchart symbols. These symbols in many cases are absolutely terrible/horrible to say the least. In some cases they have no relation at all to the true symbol set by the exchange. This creates confusion and a very poor impression for Sierra Chart especially for new users. CQG also does not have good symbology but this is another subject and those will not be changed. And there are also separate categories for searching for spreads and options. When this needs to be just integrated in with the primary listed symbol as we have done with the SC order routing service. Gradually we will be cleaning this all up. For example instead of DYU20 for the EUREX DAX we would use FDAXU20-EUREX. We are making an announcement about this because it will require coordination with users. Once we start releasing these changes it is going to require users to update the Symbol Settings and translate the symbols (Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service). We may not do any release of any changes for several months from now since we have other priorities. ---- Update: The above changes have now been made.
