hi, i'm running 1875 the highlight of the recent bid/ask is implemented for what was last hit and last lifted ... this is NOT what post #1 meant when they posted, please see screenshot closely from post #1: https://www.sierrachart.com/Download.php?Folder=SupportBoard&download=12116 what needs to be highlighted is where trade should happen - aka the best bid/ask simply, please use the current feature 'ChartDOM Best Bid/Ask Box Background' but instead of highlighting the price column, do the highlighting on recent bid/ask columns - highlight the 'ChartDOM Best Bid' on the 'recent bid volume' column - highlight the 'ChartDOM Best Ask' on the 'recent ask volume' column right now, because the highlight is only where the last hit or last lifted price, when the bid/ask depth moves and no trades go through yet, it gets confusing the current implementation of recent bid/ask highlight and example of it being confusing from YM dec 2018 (https://www.sierrachart.com/Download.php?Folder=SupportBoard&download=26292) the pink in recent bid is where the last hit was (this is great)
and the blue in the recent ask is where the last lift was (this is great) but depth bid and depth ask had moved already... 2 white (or whatever color) highlight boxes need to show at the respective recent bid & recent ask columns to show the best bid/ask this usually isn't a problem for thicker markets like the ES, as what's being hit and lifted usually are exactly where the bid/ask is currently (no spread so the two boxes diagonal to each other) but for thinner markets where there is a spread between the bid and ask.... the highlight should be like this example from jigsaw (https://www.sierrachart.com/Download.php?Folder=SupportBoard&download=26291) 830.0 is where the inside ask (best ask) is, and there is a white box on the recent ask column
829.5 is where the last lift price is (this is what's currently implemented on sc1871 which is great - recent ask price is highlighted in yellow) 829.0 is where the inside bid (best bid) is, and again there is a white box on the recent bid column as per John's post #11: We will be adding an option in the near future to make it work the way it used to, but that will require enabling the option to go back to only the most recent Bid or Ask
This is definitely needed because at any one time, only the most recent bid or ask should be highlighted as seen in jigsaw screenshot at any one moment in time, there is a MAXIMUM of 3 boxes (if last traded price is NOT where best bid/ask is currently: https://www.sierrachart.com/Download.php?Folder=SupportBoard&download=26291) - 1 yellow box (at last ask OR last bid price) - 2 white boxes (one at best bid and another at best ask) however, during active trading when market is trading at the best bid or best ask, there will only be 2 boxes: https://www.sierrachart.com/Download.php?Folder=SupportBoard&download=17319 e.g. trades are hitting the best bid right now - 1 white box (at best ask) - 1 yellow box (at best bid) Date Time Of Last Edit: 2019-03-17 23:44:05
