With regard to the Global Settings >>General Settings >> Use Non-Chart Data from Remote Instances - I had this ticked in the DESTINATION copy of SIerra but not the SOURCE copy. Have now made sure it is ticked in both, and performance seems to be better. You do not need to check this option in the Source copy.
