I'm wondering if switching or adding a SSD will improve chart upload speeds?
Yes you definitely should use a solid-state drive. Sierra Chart should be installed on a solid-state drive. The solid-state drive performance will not be affected by the Sierra Chart files. All of our servers use Intel SSDs. They are very good storage devices.

The main solution to the problem though is to increase the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit. This is explained in help topic 30.12.
