[Scale Settings]->[Constant Range] not saving upon Sierra Chart exit.

On the DOM, I right click the price column and select [Scale Settings].

Under [Scale Settings] I click [Constant Range} and then set the scale to what I want, adjusting the look of the DOM.

When closing Sierra Chart and then re-opening the platform, it sometimes saves the Constant Range value and sometimes does not. I find myself having to constantly re-scale the DOM because the settings and layout don't save upon program exit.

Any ideas on how to stop this from happening or why it's happening in the first place?

Thank you.

The scale settings should be saved with the chart. So when you close the chartbook and open it again, the chart should have the exact same settings as you had when you saved it. If you are not seeing this behavior, then something is not correct.

To begin with, we are curious if this is a Chart or a Trading DOM?

Also, are you actually saving this Chart/Trading DOM with the chartbook? Or are you closing it and opening a new one and looking for it to have the same setup as previously?

It's a Trade DOM. I keep about 15 up on one chartbook. When exiting the program, it prompts me to "Save All" and I always say yes.

Honestly, it's something I can deal with. I shouldn't have made a support thread. I won't waste your time with it. Thanks for your response. I'll live with it.

It really should not occur, and we are curious of what you are seeing.

If you can get us a Chartbook with a single Trading DOM in it that shows this issue, then we can take a look and see what might be occurring. Refer to the following to get us a chart:

I just uploaded the main window image to support. 6J (Yen futures) is doing it. Fourth DOM from the left on the top row.

Here's the link to the main window uploaded image: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1745898688711.png

If I follow your instructions and copy it to a new chartbook, the scaling factor is fine. There is no problem.

Here's the link to the main window of only the affected chartbook, following your stated instructions, without any issue: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1745899142137.png

The scaling factor on the distorted DOM is: 0.0013.
The scaling factor on the "copy chart to chartbook" new DOM is: 0.000013.

It's off by a factor of 100. It seems to not save it when it's in the original chartbook and then correct itself when copied to a new chartbook.

"aDOMs-ALL-micros.cht" is the one where the problem on 6J is an issue.
"no-problem-here.cht" is the chartbook with the DOM copied to it, without any issue.

We opened and closed the aDOMS_ALL-micros chartbook several times and the DOMs are all opening properly for us.

Does this only occur sometimes, or does it happen every time you open the chartbook?

What "scaling factor" are you referring to? What is the precise setting you are referencing for this?

If you create a new DOM for this product do you have the same issue? Or if you duplicate it to another chartbook and then duplicate that one back do you have the same problem?

Only sometimes, and it seems to be at random times, which makes it hard to pinpoint. Do you see how the numbers in the price column, resting liquidity bid/ask column, and recent bid/ask column aren't even visible on 6J? This will happen with random products on random occasions when I start up SC.

I should have been more clear on the "Scaling Factor", sorry. When you right click on the price column on the Trade DOM, go into "Scale Settings", then toggle "Constant Range", there is a number there under "Range:". That number on the affected Trade DOM (the first link in the previous comment) was 0.0013. When I "Chart->Duplicate Chart To Chartbook" and then go through the same process again, the number under "Range:" changes to 0.000013, 100x less, on the Trade DOM in the new chartbook.

If I try to duplicate the newly created/duplicated Trade DOM back to the original chartbook, no issue is there.

If I "right click" on the price column in the Trade DOM, then select "Auto Scale the Chart DOM", it fixes itself. I can also "right click" and use "Interactive Scale Range" and then drag the price around to how I want it.

I only mentioned it because it was happening frequently, and I had to adjust about 3-5 DOMs at a time, and it was annoying, but something I can live with. I was just curious why it would do that. I understand that you want to figure out why this is happening, but just to be clear, if you choose to not spend any more time with it or can't replicate it, I'm fine with auto adjusting it myself.

Unfortunately, we can not reproduce it. We do see what you are referencing in the original image. But unless we can reproduce it, there simply is not much we can do.

Hopefully the duplication out and back will resolve this for you. Let us know. If you do see this occurring relatively often, then please get us another chartbook and we'll see if we can reproduce it.
