Hello, I am preparing to use Sierra Chart for a prop trading challenge with TakeProfitTrader, a prop firm that utilizes CQG as one of the options for order routing and execution. Given the recent updates about Sierra Chart’s support for CQG, particularly the shift towards recommending the Denali Exchange Data Feed for market data from February 2024, I seek some clarifications. I understand the recommendation to switch to Denali for market data due to concerns over CQG’s data quality, especially for CME and EUREX exchanges. However, I would like to confirm if CQG can still be used for order routing and trade execution within Sierra Chart in conjunction with Denali for market data. This setup is critical for my participation in the trading challenge through the prop firm. Could you please provide confirmation on whether this dual setup (CQG for execution and Denali for data) is supported? Also, if there are specific configurations or settings that I need to apply to ensure this setup works seamlessly, guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance. This is not going to work. And we would not allow this either. You are not going to be able to get connectivity to CQG to that prop firm. The connection is simply going to be denied. And we do have control over that and would not approve it. Hi, I have a similar query but am a bit confused by your reply. You say that CQG/Take Profit trader prop account will not work with SC, but also say that "The Denali Data Feed will work with any supported Trading service including CQG". I have a funded Amp account currently running CQG giving me live data for CME. Previously I used Rithmic with SC/Denali. How can I connect my TPT/CQG acc to use Denali with SC? Any help you can give would be much appreciated as I have already purchased mt TPT acc..... :-( !! |

It has been a few years since that previous post, so things might have changed. At that time, TakeProfitTrader was not allowing for connections from Sierra Chart. This was their choice, not ours. You can try to make a connection, but we do not know if it will work. You should check with them up front and see if they know if Sierra Chart is allowed to connect to CQG through them. As to the Denali Exchange Data Feed working with any broker, this is for any broker that Sierra Chart can connect to. But, keep in mind, you for the CME Group data, you need to have a live, funded, futures trading account. Hi John / ChrisX, Can I ask what if any additional information has surfaced. Have you managed to connect to TPT and more importantly, do OCO attached SL and TP orders operate as SSO or local orders, especially as Sierra suggests users should expect issues with SSO when using CQG routing. Really important question you've raised for anyone wanting to use Sierra with TPT. Many thanks. |

Hi, yes I have connected to TPT using Rithmic. Only Rithmic works with SC. CQG does not work with TPT/SC. I use the Rithmic login/PW provided by TPT and enter them in the SC File/Global Settings: Data/Trade Service Settings: Trading User name and PW. I don't fill in the fields for Market data or Historical data username and PW as these can cause error messages with Rithmic. Here is some further Youtube help regarding setting up a prop firm with SC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sCbApJC7Go&list=PLYFqaO-7oJ7RuOOxYox9_hkNrNme6fdQ1&index=7 You also have to enable Denali Data (found in your SC subscription set up) and also have a funded account to pay for CME data. I use Amp Futures and (confusingly) i have configured it using CQG with its own username and PW (this costs $4/month for level one 'top of the Book data'....there is no market depth data included in that which would be around $12/month) If I use Rithmic with AMP I would be cherged $25/month by AMP. One final quirk, I have to reconnect SC to CQG once a month to confirm that I have paid CME for the months usage. To do this go back into the Data/Trade Service Settings and change your Rithmic connection to CGG under 'Current Selected Server List' to 'CQG WebAPI'. Once that is done you can then reconnect to Rithmic again for another month. As far as your question regarding 'OCO attached SL and TP orders operate as SSO or local orders' it would be best to ask SC direct, I would not like to give a wrong answer! |

As far as we know, Server Side OCO orders are supported with Rithmic. Hi John, As always, thank you for your reply. Yes, Rithmic has SSO and excellent additional risk management parameters but although I've been with AMP for 12+ Years and Sierra longer still, I've not had cause to use CQG order routing with attached orders alongside Sierra. That said, I've browsed previous comments including those from engineering and it seems there were/are issues. Nothing related to Denali, Teton and Sierra, just the CQG bridge. Clearly, CQG offer SSO, so my question relates to the bridge. Are there still known issues with WEBAPI/order synchronisation? If so, I'll try and look for an alternative way arrive at the desired outcome. Many thanks. |

The only thing we can really say is that we have many more issues with Rithmic than we do with CQG for order routing. We actually hear very rarely for CQG issues at this time.
