I have a funded futures account at Interactive Brokers. Does that satisfy the requirements of Sierra? I think it only has $5 in it. My goal is to trade my rithmic accounts I buy from Apex Funded Trader service. Its basically paper trading.
I plan to get my data from Denali since that seems to be the best data. Thanks.

More than 5 dollars is needed. You would need at least 100.

Why do you recommend a solution that would take days vs an account I already have setup???

The only other solution is to pay the professional exchange fees:

What the?????? Why would ANYONE IN THE WORLD pay pro fees when they are not a pro??? I'm not a pro trader why would I EVER consider paying pro fees??? Why would you ever suggest that to anyone who isnt a pro? That is the most WRONG answer EVER!

You didnt read my complaint. My complaint is the wrong answer. The CME would not tell me to pay for pro data if I'm not a pro. Ever.

AmberNinja,

They simply told you 5$ wont work at least 100$ is needed to be able to consider you as Non Professional. Or else you have to pay the professional prices. What was so hard for you to stomach that ?

Ok AmberNinja, glad to hear that you are happy with Rithmic.

It is never-the-less the case that the CME Group expects you to have a Futures Trading Account in order to qualify as a Non-Professional
[*Note: we know of only the CME Group having this rule, not EUREX, not CFE, not NASDAQ, not NYSE, just the CME Group*]

From the CME Group Certification:
"The Non-Professional Subscriber must:
a. have an active and funded futures trading account;
b. be an individual, natural person or small business entity"

I do have an active funded trading accounts but not funded enough. I've not tried to trade on SC so that still may be an issue.
And since you have so many problems with rithmic data I may do the EASY account anyway.

Understood, if you wish to try to top-up the Interactive Brokers Account, that is an option you can try, if you wish?

Then, at least once a month, you would need to connect Sierra Chart to your Interactive Brokers Trading Account in order to verify your Non-Professional status, for that please use the connection instructions below:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions

For more information on why you need to connect your Sierra Chart Account to your Futures Trading Account at least once a month (in order to verify your Non-Professional status) please see:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees

To lower your trading costs, you might consider opening a Futures Trading Account at a Broker / Clearing Firm that supports Sierra Chart's new Teton Order Routing Service, see the list of supporters in #2 here:
Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing: Setup Instructions

Or there are Brokers that will open up small Futures Trading Accounts just to help people with this issue, just to help people with the requirement of having a Futures Trading Account in order to qualify as a Non-Professional. One of (1) Stage5, (2) EdgeClear, or (3) Cannon Trading would help you here.
