Cutting Parallel Rays - Odd behavior

Just noticed the following, and cant's seem to find any documentation on this odd behavior: When I draw a parallel ray and then cut it- the multiple lines of the parallel ray (in my case 3 lines, as I have one set between the two parallel rays at 50%) get cut at an odd angle instead of straight, or even at an angle that matches the starting angle of the rays. The parallel rays, after getting cut, then also somehow extend themselves BACKWARDS in time by a few bars. I have 'Allow Horizontal Shift' enabled, which I understand is for allowing you to draw your second parallel line further forward or backwards, but do not understand why the behavior would cause these two issues to arise after a cut. Note- the issue does not present if this option is not enabled. This causes me two issues: I cannot get the lines cut where I want them to get cut (where I place my cursor and left click to cut), and also the lines randomly extending themselves backwards in time after getting cut interferes with the rest of my chart. We had made a fix to the parallel lines reversing direction after a cut in release 1944, and it appears you are using 1946, so you should not be seeing this issue. But we would still like for you to upgrade to latest version and then see if you are able to reproduce the problem and let us know in this post.

I just upgraded to version 2159. The problem is still present: line cutting is cutting the parallel rays at a weird angle and extending them backwards as well on the skewed angle. P.S. I am guessing you meant I was on 2146, not 1946, when you checked? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-08-30 21:58:14

Sorry, yes 2146. Can you please attach a screenshot showing the odd angle after you cut the parallel lines. We do not understand exactly what that means, so we need to see it. We also have never seen it ourselves. We will also take a look at the cutting to see why you may be having the problem you are. See before and after screenshot links below. Please note, it looks like some lines shift backwards, and some shift forwards after the cut. This seems to change depending how the original ray was drawn- what angle, location of original anchor points etc. BEFORE CUT: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1598836939137.png AFTER CUT: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1598837634216.png |

The reason this is occurring due to having the option for Allow Horizontal Shift enabled and how we store the information for parallel rays/lines. The only thing you can do is to turn off the option for Allow Horizontal Shift prior to making the cut, and then it will cut the lines as you are expecting. Otherwise, when the option for Allow Horizontal Shift is enabled, it is trying to center the second lines anchor point between the two anchor points of the main line. If you are actually making the horizontal shift, then this is necessary in order to keep that new location for the second line.
