Sierra, I have recently built an automated model that I want to connect to 10 different prop accounts via the RITHMIC data connection. Is it possible to simply add 5 more licenses (since each license allows 2 running instances) in the sierra control panel, or will I be forced to create 5 more accounts? Since I am using my broker's data feed, I would not need to pay for any data feeds through Sierra, correct? Simply the license? Please let me know asap as i need to get these all setup on VMs asap. |

To start with - on a single computer you are not limited in the number of installations you can have. So you can have 10 installations on a single computer all connecting to different Rithmic accounts. There is a limitation on the data. You can only get the data to three different installations on the same computer. Refer to the following: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed Connections on Same Computer Simultaneously You are setup to get data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed, but if you get your data from Rithmic, then you could get the data to all of the instances. -- For separate computers, you are on the "Integrated Standard" package, which only allows you to have Sierra Chart running on two different computers at the same time. We would first recommend updating to the "Integrated Advanced" package which allows you to run on three different computers simultaneously. Again, there would still be an issue with the data, as you can only get the data to two different computers simultaneously. Refer to the following: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously Here again, if you use Rithmic data, then you would not have as much of an issue with the multiple systems. In this case, you would need to have multiple Sierra Chart accounts to cover all the systems you would want to run Sierra Chart on. So, what you're saying is that I only need two (or three) virtual machines and I can have 3-5 copies of Sierra running on each machine with their own rhythmic connection? What is the best way to do this clone the C:\SierraChart folder into C:\SierraChart2, 3, etc. Please help me clarify.

In the end, how you set this up depends on where you want to get your data from, as that is the limiting factor, at least in terms of account setup. If you feel there are issues with the computer performance, then that is something different. If you want to get your data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed, then you would need to have 4 separate VMs and 2 different Sierra Chart accounts. You would have 3 installations on each VM except for the last one which would have 1 (3 + 3 + 3 + 1 = 10) - you could change this, but the point is that you can have a maximum of 3 installations per VM. And you need the two different Sierra Chart accounts due to the restriction of only being able to get data to two different computers at the same time. Keep in mind that even for that, you have to pay a second set of exchange fees. -- If you want to get your data from Rithmic, then you have much more flexibility for the setup. But then you are limited by Rithmic's data. Since these are separate Rithmic accounts, we assume you can get the data to each installation without any issues from Rithmic. That is something you would need to double check with them. In this case, you can have as many installations on a single computer that you want. So you would only be limited by the Sierra Chart number of computers that you are allowed. This is 2 for your current package (Package 10), but is 3 if you change to Package 11. So you could have 3 different computers running the number of installations you want each getting data from Rithmic. In this case you do not need any extra Sierra Chart accounts or anything special from us.
