Hi there, I can't quite figure out how to build a higher timeframe
microcomposite chart setup
Specifically with a Daily Chart, I just want the RTH time slice?

Can you help me with that?

Thanks

In order to have daily (or higher) time frame charts that have a specific time range, you need to build those bars from Intraday data rather than the Daily data. To do this, set the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Chart Data Type" to "Intraday Chart Only". Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Chart Data Type (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Date Range and Limiting Method)

Thanks for the quick replies..

Okay, so I use Bookmap.. Is there a way to explore levels or notes, like POC/nvpoc

Cloud Notes, I know with IRT it would export notes..

Not sure how to do it on here, with Sierra?

So for example, I would like to export ibh & ibl

ETH onh & onl

Yhi & ylo

How do I do this on here, thanks John

The general information to export data and study information is here:
Edit Menu: Edit >> Export Bar and Study Data to Text File

So you would need to have whatever studies you need to have the particular information you are looking for, and then export it per the above.

Hi John,

Hope you had a good weekend
Thanks for the reply, I managed to get the export to work as I thought.. It exports the data, but I want to use on Bookmap chart.. I need it to be exported to CSV format..
I'm unsure how to go about this,

So do I for example place a indicator, which shows the overnight levels.. With the predefined ETH timezone set

It's kinda confusing, with all the indicators/studies, not sure which I need to use?

Can we try to set one, the overnight lvls. Then I'm sure this will allow me to then set the rest once I nail one methods down.. Thanks

The data exported out of Sierra Chart is in a Tab delimited format. You would have to convert this to a comma separated format using third party tools. For instance, you could import into Excel, then save as a Comma Separated file and then import that.

What exactly are you wanting to get in terms of the Overnight levels?

well, how do I do that, get the eth overnight lvl's? I would assume it would be done automatically, due to the ETH timesession.. But what tool or study would I use, and set to export that out, the values of the ETH low and high for example, and the ETH POC

I'm not sure how to do this, the previous email, mentioned I use export bar, is that correct
I tried it, but it's not allowing me to select the what to export, it just exports everything on that specific chartbook layout

Do you need an example of what I mean, the ETH overnight lvls

The simplest thing to do to get ETH High/Low and POC is to have a chart that is set to just display the data for the ETH hours. Refer to the following:
Chart Session Times

Then add the "Volume Value Area Lines" study to that chart and set the Input for "Volume Value Area %" to "1". Then the "Value Area High" will give you the High, the "Value Area Low" will give you the Low, and the "Point of Control" will give you the "Point of Control".

Then you can export the information as we have mentioned previously.

Hi, thank you so much..

I will have more questions, but one thing at a time..
So i managed to manipulate that to show the ONH & ONL

But I was wondering, is there a way to program buttons? To toggle on or off presets..
I was also wondering, wouldn't it be better to use a volume profile study instead.. Not sure how the industry does it on Sierra charts..

Like I would like to export these lvl's,

So I will provide my first example of exporting the lvls that I tried, I don't think I done it right? You let me know,

I managed to find this, "chart value 1 to be displayed on volume profile"

Is this what you're saying, or is sierra somewhat flexible

Can I work around it, the issue comes when or how far back can I adjust my charts to pull these notes from..

First I want to get the overnight setup, then I will look to add others, like YHI & YLO, etc..
But for now, let's set up overnight ETH lvls, etc

Thanks John

We are not certain what you are wanting to toggle. Please give us more information on what you want to do.

I was also wondering, wouldn't it be better to use a volume profile study instead.. Not sure how the industry does it on Sierra charts..

If you want to view a Volume Profile with the lines, then you can do it this way. You would just need to set the Input for "Draw Mode" to be "Volume Profiles and POC, VAH, VAL, VWAP Lines" so that when you export the information, those items will be in the export. Refer to the following:
Volume By Price Study: Draw Mode

So I will provide my first example of exporting the lvls that I tried, I don't think I done it right? You let me know

It looks like you selected "Edit >> Expport Bar Data to File". You need to select "Export Bar and Study Data to File".

I managed to find this, "chart value 1 to be displayed on volume profile"

We never made any reference to these items. You can use those to display information on the chart, but those will not export.

"We are not certain what you are wanting to toggle. Please give us more information on what you want to do."

I mean, like with IRT you have buttons which you can preset..
I'm wanting to have a HTF chart, so different views at a flick of a switch..

I'm not sure how to go about it with sierra, at the moment I have multiple chart books, with duplicates of the same chart tab, with different settings. Trying to learn how to set them up from scratch too. It burns me out sometimes.

I also want to learn how to have presets saved, and I can jut apply them when needed.. I see there's a default setting, but it doesn't seem easy to manage, I might be doing it wrong

Thanks, sorry for the long reply and response time. Got caught up with other stuff

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the replies,
So here's the issue, I've exported something, but it doesn't look right to me.. Not sure how to use this txt tile, I have no control to what is should export?
I'm provided a screen shot, it's just a bunch of numbers or numbers from individual candles, idk.. Didn't look further

""Draw Mode" to be "Volume Profiles and POC, VAH, VAL, VWAP Lines"" I have done this already, but that's not what i want, I want to export these lvls, like I could do on IRT, and I would input them into Bookmap Cloudnotes column

& obviously, everyday, this will update, DVAH & DVAL will shift, and updates will be made every five minutes, etc

Does this make sense, let me know if we're able to do this on Sierra, thanks

Understood, I will just exploring the setting.. I came across it and like this displayed info on the chart.. This would be a feature I would like to add onto a button, and being able to toggle it off and on when needed..

Another thing I wouldn't might toggling on and off, or a preset as such, I sometimes like white chart backgrounds to be able to screen shot and print it. But I was thinking, is there way to save a preset and just apply it when needed.

Dark chart background, then when i want to screen shot the chart, apply the white background chart for screen shot and toggle back to blacked out

Thanks in advance.. Sorry for send so many replies,

Hi John,

I don't know why I'm struggling here,
Why is it so difficult to do things on here

I done what you said, and also read the link provided.. I still can't load the saved preset, it saves successfully, but can't load it or apply it on another chart

The graphics presets are only global. So when you load one, it will change the graphics settings for all charts that are not using chart specific graphics settings.

If you have a single chart for which you want to apply a certain graphics setting, and that chart is setup to use its own graphics (i.e. the setting for "Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings" is set to "No"), then the following is a way to apply a preset configuration to that chart:
- Load the preset global configuration you want to apply to that chart.
- Select "Chart >> Graphics Settings >> Graphics Settings for Chart - Colors"
- Go to the "Settings" tab on that window
- Select the button for "Copy from Global"

You can then load a different configuration for your global graphics to get those charts back to how you want them.

Thanks John, I don't know why I'm struggling with that, I will try again

I've provided a screen shot of what I'm trying to replicate,
How do I show these lvls on chart, I want to show the lvls on charts.
Then eventually I want to export them out,
How do we do this, show the overnight levels on charts,

Thanks

What you are asking for is beyond the scope of our support, as you are basically asking us to put together a chart for you that matches something someone else put together.

Hi John, I'm not asking for all of that.. I'm asking for ONH and ONL for the time being.. Surely you can advice how to enable this? I'm not ask you to build the chart for me.. I was just showing how those are other lvls I'm interested in..

Can you help me get ONH and ONL enabled to show on the chart

Thanks
