hi, I am using the Daily OHLC study for my close lines, and there seem to me two issues. Firstly, the line is displayed during the session, why is this, what is the purpose? Secondly, the close line is creating dashes and marks all over the screen during the session, I have to hit reload and recalculate, and after that it again starts developing the dashes on the screen. please find screenshots attached. The close line is marked in purple. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-02-17 09:27:14

If you are asking why the line is displayed across the entire session, then that is how this study is setup. If you want just a point at the location where the item occurs, then use the "Daily OHLC - Single Point" study instead. the close line is creating dashes and marks all over the screen during the session, I have to hit reload and recalculate, and after that it again starts developing the dashes on the screen.
Please get us this chart so we can take a look at how you have it setup. We do see something occurring with the markers from the "Daily OHLC - Single Point". We will have to look into this, but we do not know when we will be able to do so. Therefore, we can only recommend not using that at this time, since it does not do what you want. What exactly do you want to see? Is a single point at the location of the Close of each day like what the "Daily OHLC - Single Point" should do, or are you looking for something else? Hi John, Thanks for looking into this. Exactly, Just a single point that marks the open and close on the profile |

Given that the "Daily OHLC - Single Point" is not working, then we recommend using the "Spreadsheet Formula" to accomplish this. You would need two copies, one for the Open and one for the Close. You need to specify the exact time at which you want the marker to be placed. For example, if you want the Open to be marked at "18:00:00", then you would enter the following formula for the Spreadsheet Study for the Open: =IF(BARTIME = TIME(18, 00, 00), O, 0) And if you want the Close to be at 17:59:59, then your formula for the close would be the following: =IF(BARTIME = TIME(17, 59, 59), C, 0) You would need to then set the "Spreadsheet Formula" to be in Region 1, set the option for "Draw Zero Values" to "No", and set the "Draw Style for the subgraph to what you want for the marker (and adjust the Width/Size as needed). You would need to adjust the times you specify based on the bar period of the chart. Refer to the following: Spreadsheet Formula Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Draw Style Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Line Width Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: Available Main Price Graph Identifiers/Variables https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SpreadsheetFunctions.html#IF_Function For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
