I am having trouble setting Candlestick Patterns Finder Alerts. I chose my 6 patterns in Studies Settings. They show on the chart. On the Alerts page I checked the first 4 boxes. I chose my Alert Sound in the drop down. Nothing in the Alert Condition space since I think that should be covered in the 4 checks. I set up my sound in the General Settings Alerts. But they do not show in Alert Manager and I don't get the alarm. I also tried right clicking the text in the chart but that does not bring up the other alert box. Help please. Thanks

We do not know what you mean by "I checked the first 4 boxes." What boxes are you referring to? Refer to the following regarding setting up an alert for the Candlestick Pattern Finder: CandleStick Patterns Finder: Accessing Pattern Results in Alerts, Spreadsheets and ACSIL For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

The CandleStick Finder study is not working properly. The four boxes he is referring to are the first four on the alert page, enabled, reset study, only once per bar and evaluate on bar close. The alerts do not sound. I have no text selected but the text appears until the bar closes meaning the only once per bar setting is not working.

User213504: Did you go through the information in the following link: CandleStick Patterns Finder: Accessing Pattern Results in Alerts, Spreadsheets and ACSIL Do you have your Alert condition set properly based on that information? We did a quick test and everything is working correctly for us in the Candlestick Patterns Finder. Exactly which pattern (or patterns) do you have setup in the study? And what exactly is your alert condition? Please post the condition as you have it setup to this thread. And let us know where you have the condition set (i.e. in the Candlestick Patterns Finder study itself, or another study, or in the Chart Settings)? I have to apologize, I didn't read the alert part of the instructions but they aren't very clear. I want the alert to sound for all 5 patterns I've selected. I entered the following formula but the alert sound doesn't play. =or(SG1=1, SG2=2, SG3=13,SG4=14,SG5=63) How can I correct it. |

If that alert is set on the "Candlestick Patterns Finder" study and if the numbers match to the pattern numbers for the specific entries, then what you have should be working. If that alert is not setup on the "Candlestick Patterns Finder" study itself, then you need to reference the Candlestick Patterns Finder in addition to the subgraph. So you would need to have something like "ID1.SG1=1" for each of the tests. We are not having any issues with your chart. The alerts are showing up properly. Are you just not gettin a sound with the alert? Is the alert actually getting logged to your Alert Manager? Check the Alert Manager and see if the alert is in there. If it is, and you are not getting any sound, then refer to the following: General Settings Window: Troubleshooting for Alert Sounds That Do Not Play For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

The alert window showed that the sound was disabled. I went into the Global Settings/Alerts and the sound played when tested but there is a weird setting "Do not play alert sound(for Alert 20)" that was set to "Yes". You have to set it to No for the sound to play. Much better and simpler would be "Enable sound for all alerts Yes/No" and the default should be yes because what are alert sounds for but to sound when there is an alert.

On second thought this setting should be deleted, it's an example of overthinking.

There is the following setting that controls whether a sound is played for any alert or not: Global Settings Menu: Mute All Alert Sounds (Global Settings menu) The option for "Global Settings >> General Settings >> Alerts >> Do Not Play Alert Sound" is a per alert option. So if it was set to "Yes" for Alert 20, then that would only affect Alert 20. It would have no impact on Alert 6, which was the alert setup in the chart we got from you. That options is there for two reasons: 1. If you do not select an Alert Sound for an alert, then you get the default Windows "bing" sound. 2. You may want to have an Alert Sound setup for other reasons - like sending to Chat and then to the ntfy app on your phone. But you may not want the actual sound. This was not overthinking, it was a necessary change due to the needs of our customers.
