I've been running the remote buffer delay at 10ms for years now but when recently reviewing the documentation, I noticed that they conflict. I followed the information from the below link which says it can be as low as 10ms. I am located in Chicago and have a good internet connection. Prices / Data Falling Behind: 4.12 - Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feeds But I found the following link which says the setting can not be set less than 20ms. Sierra Chart Server Settings: Remote Buffer Delay Send Time In Milliseconds (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> General) Which one is correct? And since I've been using 10ms, if the min is 20ms, does that mean remote buffer delay has been running at the default setting all these years? |

It cannot be less than 20. Yes it has been running at 20 all these years. Latency with market data, is in excess of 20 ms, the best would be about 40 to 50 ms. And even though you are in Chicago, who knows how the routing is even occurring.

I am in the datapacket datacenter (Coresite CH1), I should have a good connection to SC servers. I will change my setting to 20ms. So when it was at 10ms, it was running at the default value, correct? |
