Is MBO data available for most small cap stocks? Most Nasdaq small cap stocks? Does "-NQTV" provide the same data? How can we tell if a stock has MBO data or not?

The market depth data, and hence the Market by Order data, is only available from our NASDAQ TotalView exchange. So if the stock is traded on the NASDAQ, then there should be MBO data for it. There is no way to know ahead of time, except by asking the exchange. Therefore, you would have to open the chart and see if the data is present.

We see that you have both the "U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape" and the "NASDAQ TotalView". Therefore, opening a symbol with either -NQTV or _MBO will allow you to view the Market by Order data.

If you have not already set it up, then refer to the following for the Market by Order data:

Confusing situation: When I search for most nasdaq small cap stocks, I can't find them using the search menu (see pic). However, when I apply the same symbols inside the "Chart - Chart Settings - Symbol" sequence, SC will usually find the stocks. Where this is a problem is when I try to create a watch list, as the platform will not find these stocks (see pics). pls advise. Thx

For one thing, you are not using the correct search option. The search where you have entered the information is to search through the symbols that are listed in the Find Symbol window.

In order to search the full list of NASDAQ TotalView stocks, you need to select the item in the Find Symbol list window under the NASDAQ TotalView selection for "Enter Search Text - NASDAQ TotalView". Then a new search box will open at the bottom of the window where you enter either the symbol or description and then select the appropriate button on the right. Refer to the attached image.
