Is it possible to draw a volume profile that starts at the beginning of the latest weekly candle, and automatically adjusts the start time to the new week as the next week begins? Essentially a developing weekly volume profile that auto updates its starting point every week. |

Volume By Price Study: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length One Period at End of Fixed Time Length looks similar to what I want, but if the Time Period is 1 Day and the last bar in the chart has a time of 10:14:59, then the profile will begin at 10:15:00 in the prior day.
this sounds like the calculation will be (current bar - 1week) and not necessarily from the start of the current trading week. |

"One Period at End of Fixed Time Length" is what you want. You would just need to ensure that you set the period you want as 1 week. If you were to use 7 days, then it would not give you what you want.

One Period at End of Fixed Time Length with the period set to 1 week does not start the calculation from the beginning of the trading week. If I left align the profile, I see that it is drawn from the current bar minus 1 week, partially including some of the previous trading week's data. I am on a 5min candle chart if that is relevant. The value area also does not match up with the weekly TPO + volume profile I have on a separate instance, and this instance does start from the trading week. |

That is not what we are having happen. Attached is an image of the setup with a 1 week period. This is for the NQ, so the week starts on Sunday night at 16:00 Central US Time (which is the time zone of the chart). If you are seeing something different, then please get us an image so we can see how you have this setup and what you are seeing. Ok I will send an image, but to clarify, shouldn't the NQ weekly start on Sunday night at 17:00 Central US Time ? Not 16:00 |

Yes, that is correct, it is at 17:00 Central US time. It did not sound right when I wrote it, but I did not double-check myself. The reason it is showing as 16:00 in my chart is that my Session Times are set to start at 16:00, and since that was a 4 hour chart, 17:00 is included in that bar. My attached 240min chart looks exactly like the screenshot you have shown me. I am on a 240min chart like yours, and I have changed my time zone settings through Global Settings >> Time Zone Settings, and set it to Chicago to match your image. I have also included a screenshot of my Chart Settings >> Session Times settings for clarity. So far this is as expected, but when I go lower than a 240min chart, the volume profile partially includes the previous week's data. 60min https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=174742105212.png 5min https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1747421088112.png |

I find that this happens when the bar period is set to less than 225 minutes. So from 224min and lower, I see the volume profile include last week's data. 224min chart https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1747421510634.png |

We do see this occurring on our end as well. We will have to look into it to see what is occurring.

Is it possible this is the intended behavior? Volume By Price Study: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length To me this reads like it should disregard the start of a trading session/week and simply start the profile from current bar minus the specified length. There's also this option Volume By Price Study: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length - Auto-Skip Empty Days which seems to be more inline with what I want, but it does not support weekly periods. Ultimately I'm fine with adjusting the starting point manually every week. I am just confused whether the feature is supported and buggy, or unsupported. |

Our apologies. You are correct. The "One period at End of Fixed Time Length" is starting at the end of the chart and going back in time. This is why it would show correctly for some bar periods, but not for lower ones. The option you want is "One Period from Most Recent Period Start to End". Refer to the following: Volume By Price Study: One Period from Most Recent Period Start to End Again, my apologies - I guess I'm just having an off day and not thinking correctly. That works perfectly! No worries I appreciate your help. I was looking for options with "Fixed Time" in its name so I completely overlooked that one.
