NTFY alerts are half an hour late, making them useless.

I've been using NTFY alerts, sent to my iPhone, for price alerts to tell me when a potential trade is about to take place.

I'm getting alerts that are more and more delayed. Today I missed a ZN trade because the alert was 30 minutes late.

The chat log says it was sent on the correct time.
The Alert Manager says it was triggered on the correct time.

I'm not sure if this is an NTFY thing or not, but I need advice on what to do because having alerts this late defeats the purpose of having an alert.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

The delay is not coming from the Sierra Chart side. This would be impossible because these alerts are sent instantly, through our own server. There simply is no possibility of a delay and certainly not 30 minutes. The delay, would be within the range of 1-2 seconds and this is all. Maximum. There is no other possibility.

At the time you expect to get an alert, are you looking at the alert within the ntfy app itself? Or are you looking for the alert on the lock screen of the iPhone? If it is the lock screen, then that would be a notification which will be handled through the Google Firebase service but very doubtful there would be a 30 minute delay there.

Run the ntfy app, and the time you expect an alert, look at the homepage of that application and see if it says "reconnecting". Let us know. So the problem would be that the ntfy app does not have an active connection to our server, or there is some delay related to the Google firebase service.

Disregard the above. We see evidence of this 30 minute delay ourselves, but we are not totally certain if this was a 30 minute delay or some other issue. But in any case we are working on direct integration to Google firebase for direct notifications to mobile phones.

We are working actively working on an alternative solution. And have been for more than two weeks.

I look forward to it!

Just a quick update (in case any of this helps you on the solution to this problem or on the new one you are working on).

It's not only sending delayed messages. Some aren't even being sent. I didn't get an alert for a take-profit order on iPhone while I was out, but when I came back to the desk, the browser, chat log, and alert manager were all properly displaying the alert. It wasn't even a delay in response to the iPhone app, or anything dealing with notifications to a locked screen (as you mentioned above). The notification just didn't come in at all on the iPhone app. However, SC is clearly doing its job on the backend because on my PC everything was fine.

Yes we have seen this as well and this was a common problem with Telegram alerts that were supported previously.
