just curious if I change the scaling between automatic and independent all the indicators change their values, I've no idea what causes this problem.

The indicators are not changing their values. What is occurring is that with Independent scaling, that study is going to be displayed "independent" of the scale itself - so there is no connection between the values displayed in the scale and the values of the study. Refer to the following: Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Independent (Scale Range) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Ok, thanks John, I'll watch over the weekend, because for me the values change :) if I switch between this 2 scaling version, each MA shows a different value thereafter, that's why I thought it changes the value. Let's see how I can solve it. I used Tradenavigator for many years and there I could switch between "scaling on indicators" or scaling on price (candles) that worked way smoother as the SC scaling. |

You should definitely not have a different value for an indicator. We think it is how you are looking at that value. How are you doing this? How are you viewing a particular value that is different depending on the scaling?

As we stated, the indicator is not actually changing its value, it is just displayed different relative to the scaling. When using an Independent scaling option, the study has no relation to the scale on the right - hence the reason why it is called "independent" (i.e. it is "independent" of the scaling).

lol, ok, I see a change of 30 ES points, I cannot understand the logic behind this scaling, perhapy you can add a scaling based on the price-action (and not the indicators)

We do not know how to explain this any further or in any different way. When using a scale option of "Independent" that item is not going to be tied to the scales. So you can not look at a value on the scale and say that it what the value of that item is. That item is INDEPENDENT of the scales. Refer to the following: Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Independent (Scale Range) If you really do not understand this, then simply do NOT use the Independent scaling option. Yes, thank you John, everything is fine, I understand now what it means, but as said, perhaps would it be possible to add some day a scaling based on price-action (based on the candles). Thanks for your support!

Scaling based on the price is the "Automatic" scaling, or any of the other scaling options except for "Independent". If you are not getting what you want using the "Automatic" scaling, then what is it that is not working as you want? There is also an option for using a Left-Hand scale, which allows for two different scales to be used. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Use Left Side Scale (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Scale menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

this is what I mean, the left chart is based on indicators (just around half of the chart shows candles) and the right one is based on price-action (the low of the chart shows the lowest candle and the high the highest candle

You need to use the Scale Setting of "Same as Region" for the studies that you do not want to impact the scaling.
