Hi. I am currently deciding on which package to purchase from Sierra Chart. I likely will go with Service Package 10 or higher. I asked my broker regarding which data feed they said was the best and they recommended to me "Rithmic". Are there any major differences between the "Rithmic" and "Denali" data feed? If I go with Service Package 10 or higher although it has capability for external connectivity I could also use "Denali" if chose to as well correct? Thank you in advance for your response.

The main difference in the data feeds is that Rithmic has a lack of historical data. You can get a few days back from the current day, but that is all. Our Denali Exchange Data Feed has many years of data available.

We have also seen connectivity issues with Rithmic data.

We definitely recommend using our Denali Exchange Data Feed for your data, unless we do not have a particular exchange available that you need, in that case you would need to use the data from your trading provider.

You do need to be on one of the "Integrated" packages in order to get real-time data from any source, including our Denali Exchange Data Feed.

To setup a paid package, follow these instructions:
Sierra Chart Purchase and License Information: Instructions

To connect to Rithmic, follow these instructions:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

To setup the data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed for the CME Group, follow these instructions:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges*

To setup data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed for EUREX, CFE, CBOE Indices, or U.S. Equities, follow these instructions:

Thank you for your response John.

If Denali data has less connectivity issues it probably will factor into my decision. Also my broker said that with "Rithmic" data they offer the "R-Trader" which is available by app in case I am mobile I would be able to place a trade if I am not in front of the computer which is not common, but could technically happen. My broker said that with Sierra Chart it is strictly a desktop platform and the Rithmic data could give me some flexibility in the event that I am mobile and needed to place a trade. Is he correct?

We do not know enough about R-Trader to know if you need the data to use it to modify a position. For instance, if you are going to open a Market order or close a position, there is no specific need for the data. But again, we really do not know how that system works in this respect.

...@User484200...

...allow me to comment: DENALI/TETON doesn't have "less connectivity issues"--DENALI/TETON HAS ZERO ISSUES OF ANY KIND !!!
...they are superb to any other feed
...I live in Naperville/Chicago being using AMP broker and SIERRA CHART/DENALI/TETON for a year-pure perfection !!!
...trading on mobile even laptop is kind of a joke for me (I make living by trading and have no other sources of income)
...you could find more appealing platforms/data feeds visually more pleasing but if you want to know what is going on on CME (every single tick; msec.; sec.; 1400 levels up/down; raw/combined) choice is very simple-SIERRA CHART
...I am also on 12. package (if they introduce 15th-I would be on that)
...
...at the end I am NOT on SC payroll; they could even be upset of me praising them so often on every site
...wish you all the best

Thank you for your comment blt. It's good to hear from a professional trader that has personal experience with the Denali data feed. I am leaning towards Denali data at the current time.

If I choose the Denali data I still have the option for Rithmic order routing correct? If so where on the Sierra Chart website am I able to set this up.

The fact of the matter is there are times that I may be mobile that may be out of my control where I would have a comfort level knowing that I have the ability to get in and out of positions with ease.

...you are welcome
...please ask SC Support about that possibility-I never considered anything else but DENALI/TETON (and I didn't go with TETON because it is FREE !!!)
...I totally understand your mobile needs (personally I never got in situation to handle my trading/position over mobile); this is what I got from co-pilot:

"Rithmic Order Routing: While Rithmic can be used, it has limitations, such as less historical data and potential connectivity issues. It might be preferred if you need mobile trading capabilities through the R-Trader app"
...
...please use SC Support-they will guide you
...wish you good trading

@user484200 yes of course, if you use Denali realtime-data you also can connect your Rithmic-account for order-routing only (I use it to connect prop accounts and works great)
