HI, I'm running SC on a Mac using Crossover and I have an issue with my Message log keeps putting out message which I have already sent the log to engineering. It's regarding File compression not supported for the DVOL symbol that I have added as an additional symbol on one of my charts. I'm not sure if that is the issue. But I'm a new user that is setting up SC and would love to know on how to resolve this issue Thanks |

I believe I have solved this by turning off the Compression in advanced settings

Those messages can be ignored, but if you want to stop them, you need to do what you did.

John, While I have your attention, can you help me with another error. Earlier I was trying to setup the Chat and I configured a chat group called MyAlerts. For some reason, I never got any alerts in the chat window. So today I setup another group, updated the the chat ID and setup the NTFY app and I'm getting the alerts on mobile device. IT however also opens up the chat window but the alerts are not in there.. Also, the chat window freezes and I can't close the window or do anything with the chat menu. I think it may be related to the earlier chat group I created, because as soon as I click on that group, everything freezer. I'm wondering if there is a way for me to delete that group to see if that's the issue. Unfortunately since as soon as I click into it, it freezes I cannot access the menu to see If I can delete it. Is there another way for me to delete it off the data files? Attaching screenshot, I would like to delete the group MyAlerts, Thanks |

Actually, it's not just the MyAlerts chat group. Even I click into the other chat, the window becomes unresponsive.. Is there a way I don't have to have that window pop up on an alert so I never open it, unless there is a a solution for the freezing. Once it freezes SC cannot gracefully exit. Saving doesn't work and I have to force close the application

We noticed from the image that you are running the software on a MAC computer. We do know of an issue with the Chat on MACs (or other emulator software). This is still being looked into, so for the moment the only option would be to not use the chat for alerts. We do not have a timeline on this at this time. To reset the chat to an original state, so you can move forward, you can delete the files and folders in the "ChatDataHistory" folder under the main Sierra Chart installation folder. Ok. got it. Thank you. So I'll have to go back into the settings and remove the setup to notify in Chat for the Alert I set up for Chat and NTFY?

Yes, you would also want to remove the Chat reference for the alerts you setup. As for nfty, if you are not using it for anything else, then you can remove it for now and reinstall when we have this fixed.

Look for either a Sticky at the top of the Support Board that gets updated, probably the one that is already there about new mobile alerts. Or, you can check the Version Notes, but we have been remiss in updating those notes, but it might end up in there. We do try to find these old posts and update them when something like this occurs, but it is not something we can guarantee. It is definitely not something to expect that would ever change. The core problem is with the operating system being used. Not Sierra Chart.
