John, I promise I went thru all my old posts to see if there was an answer to this because I feel like I must know how to fix this, but I can't.

Mike teamviewed and duped all settings and did what you suggested. We get an intraday chart with live feed from when it was created, but no back data. I got settings>data limiting and see it is stuck on today's date. I try changing it anyway I can, but it reverts back. It asks in a pop-up if I want to download the back data. I say yes. It then comes up with a red error message.

What am I doing wrong? I know I must know the fix but I have tried everything. I also went back to data services and looked that tick data and lots of days. Nothing fixes it. sorry we are almost there! THANK YOU, Karen

Regarding Historical data for a Custom Calculated Symbol, refer to the following:
Custom Calculated Symbols: Resolving Missing Historical Data Issue

Regarding the price scale, this would be due to the Price Display format that you have set. It looks like you have it set to "1.000" and you probably want it to be something less than 1. Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Price Display Format (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu)

John,
Sadly, the chart is not working. I followed to the letter every step in 'resolving missing....' As you see 'YES' is enabled in the custom symbol settings. This is what Mike did the other day to get the chart to work. BUT when I followed the steps of opening an nq and an es chart and deleting and reloading all data(these charts had endless data to begin with but whatever) the nq and es charts reloaded as before all nice perfect, but the spread chart deleted the small amount of 1 min data it had and went back to blank. It then began tracking new data from the current time, but nothing before.

1- both es and nq historical charts called up. Both filled with correct data. Both those were delete/reloaded. Both were perfect again

2- spread chart had some data from last 24 hrs. When the delete/reload was hit the chart reloaded blank, all data wiped.

3- 'download historical data' set to yes (screenshot)

Anything else I can try? I have to get this working as the client wants to add spreads and pay me more for analysis. Please John, that money is really important to me.

What is "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download >> Formula Symbols" set to?

John,
I keep reading and rereading, and I see my chart does have the FSC symbol after formula so correctly formatted as per table of contents. See attached. I also duped the spread chart, changed symbol to es, and boom a perfectly working chart with back data. Why won't the spread back date if the inputs have all the data it needs?

thank you, Karen

Did you reset all the symbol settings back to their default except for the minimum ones that are needed to be set for the Custom Calculated Symbols?

If that image is your current symbol settings then there are still items that are not set back to their default. We are not certain that this is the issue, but we think it might be related to the settings for some of the historical data items. The items with the asterisk (*) in the middle are the modified items. An item like "Source Data Symbol" could be something that is causing an issue.

morning John,
Mike jumped on and followed your instructions re the defaults etc. Sadly, as you see in screenshot, once we generated a new chart, it starts from ground zero and will not give any back data history. Mike can't understand why his with these exact same settings, and formula, worked immediately on his SC, but not mine. I course can't really understand any part of this haha.

We await further suggestions from you and your wonderful team. Thank you all, Karen

We don't know why you are having an issue at this point.

Start with a simple Custom Calculated Symbol and see if you are able to get the historical data for it. Then add more complexity until you get back to what you are wanting for the full symbol.
