Hello,

I will like to build Spreadsheet Alert that will notice me a Decline OF 10 TICKS
For example : In 1 minutes bar ES , if price was 1305.00 and Decline to 1303.00 Alert me.

But, I Will like to count this down price ONLY for the last HIGH! ( Not from the Highest High)

I don't want to Limit the number bar back because the price can Decline after 2 bars and sometimes only after 15 bars or more...And if I will put 50 bars back I probably won't get the last high.

Any idea, how can I find the Last HIGH and is Decline ?

Thank you,
Moti

Without limiting the number of bars back, the best way to find the 'previous' high is to use the Zigzag study. It won't be as good as your eyes/brain, but close. The algo is complex and creating one that comes close is probably not possible with a spreadsheet study. Besides, why reinvent the wheel.

If you can accept it's choice of a high, the spreadsheet can easily be coded to alert on a 10 tick decline. Take a look at this thread from the old board:

Hello Tom,

Thank you for help,

I add ZigZag study to charts, The Highs And Lows are are Extrime,
Sometimes dozens of bars from Pick to valley.

I look for the last Highs that was made by kind of simple pivot:
Like IF High (0) < High (1) AND High (1)> High (2)
Count from the High(1) {the highest of the three bars}10 ticks down
If Matching Highs follow High(1) It OK, It is still the last highest high.

Can you help With this calculation ?

Thank you,
Moti

The Zigzag study has many options. Maybe one of them will find the highs you are seeing with your eyes.

It would be easy to count 10 ticks down from High(1) but how shall that high be located? I do not know of a way with a formula to be any more accurate than the Zigzag study.

Thank you,

Can't find the configuration of ZIGZIG that locate simple pivots.

Any Way to locate the HIGHER HIGH in simple pivot ( 3 bar pattern): HIGH ," HIGHER HIGH " ,LOWER HIGH.
High (0) < High (-1) AND High (1)> High (-2)
High 0 ( last bar) 1310.00
High 1 (One bar ago) 1315.00 HH
High 2 (Tow bars ago) 1309.00

Any idea how to "store" like global variable the price At the " HIGHER HIGH " 1315.00 and count 10 ticks down from this point

Thank you again,
Moti

Is this the indicator you are looking for to locate the High?:

I would need to know what to use to determine the H/L before I would be able to give you a specific formula to 'store' a variable in a spreadsheet array.
