Read it all - all the comments/entries in Support Forum. All the engineering notes on timers - global and per chart. As it stands, going from V2700 to V2702 locked up the program where the chart trader, Quoteboard, and Dom were only a white screen and needed to use Task Manager to unload SC. Racing against SC loading, I was able to stop it, unselect auto connect and chart loads and revert back to v2700. Read your new post on the auto-set for release V2714 and now it shows the graphs after a much longer load time than before, but is so slow the cursor can't keep up on any of the charts. What I have - a dedicated machine running local (not a remote machine) Windows Server 8 R2 and a browser - it's as simple as it gets. global timers set to 500ms; quote board 1000ms. individual charts all set to 0=use global. per windows resource monitor SC CPU usage on avg is 8-9% with a spike or two up to 14% when I maneuver within the program. I'm going back to v2700 which seems to function nominally. Any and all advice welcome. Thanks. |

There is no change with chart data loading times: and now it shows the graphs after a much longer load time than before,

Well, on my end there is and could all be due to the massive delays more than one of your customers are seeing. Incidentally, I've been with you guys since 2015. So as not to engage in an argument as I really need resolution to this change in the SC platform, let me revise my issue: Read it all - all the comments/entries in Support Forum. Read your new post on the timer auto-set for release V2714 so I updated and after loading my chartbook the software delays are so significant that the graphics, pull-down menus, or attempts to add a position to the chart are several seconds delayed which is nothing I have experienced prior v2702. Even pushing my cursor across the chart the graphics cannot keep up with what has otherwise been a near real time experience. What I have - a dedicated machine running local (not a remote machine) Windows Server 8 R2 and a browser - it's as simple as it gets. HW is an HP Z440 desktop server running Intel Xeon E5-2678 v3 + 32Gb and running on SSD. global timers set to 500ms; quote board 1000ms. individual charts all set to 0=use global. per windows resource monitor SC (v2714) CPU usage on avg is 8-9% with a spike or two up to 14% when I maneuver within the program. I'm going back to v2700 which seems to function nominally. Any and all advice welcome. Thanks. |

What we mean is that there is no change in the functionality with loading chart data. This is referring to reading data from the Intraday data files or Historical Daily data files. All of this is done on a separate thread. This is the most significant time to load a Chartbook. However, if charts are being calculated more frequently it could take away processing power from loading chart data from the files and that would be an explanation why it could take longer. We are aware of all of the reports. And we will update our thread on this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIECED DELAY IN MENUS AND WHEN PUTTING ON ORDERS, THE ORDERS WHEN CLICKING ON THE DOM SEEM TO DELAY A SECOND OR TWO, WEIERD DELAYS ARE HAPPENING. NOT AS BAD AS USER 925794 BUT VERY FRUSTRATING. HE MIGHT BE USING CERTRAIN STUDIES THAT MAKE IT WORSE? ANYWAY WILL VERSION 2714 RECTIFY ALL THESE ISSUES? User925794 [Direct Messages] - Posts: 2718 |

Update to 2719 or latest, try OS timers On or Off. Global Settings -> General Settings
