Hi Sierra,

There are several discrepancies between between my candle stick chart + daily volume profile vs my TPO chart. Firstly as you can see the blue shaded areas (70% of Volume) differs from my TPO - should they not be the same?

Not sure if this issue is caused by different session timing starts, but the prices for highs and lows do not even match up. As can be seen in the TPO chart vs the candle stick chart, on 6/11 and 7/11 price reached the 2424 level which I have drawn, but on the TPO chart it doesnt even reflect that price reached this level. Is this because price didnt spend a minimum of 30 minutes there?

Even so, there should still be volume reflected on the VP (right hand side) of the TPO chart - but it does not reflect this. Please clarify

The blue shaded areas are the Value Areas on the Volume profile and on the TPO. One reason they would be different is that the Value Area is calculated differently (by default) between the TPO and the Volume Profile. Refer to the following:
Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: TPO Value Area

If you want the Value Area to be the same between the two, then you would need to set the TPO to use a Volume Value Area. Refer to the following:
Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: Value Area Highlight Based On Volume

With regards to the prices, the TPO and the Volume Profile are covering different time periods. Your Volume by Price goes from 16:30:00 to 16:29:59. We assume the TPO is not setup to display the Evening Session and this would be the reason for the difference. But regardless of the reason why, they are definitely covering different times, which will give you different values.

Thanks John,

Just to clarify what I meant was the Volume Value Area within the TPO (on the right) should be the same as the Volume Profile should it not? The TPO would definitely differ, that I understand but the Volume Value Area within it should be using the same 70% inputs the calculate.

For the time periods, could you let me know which settings/input specifically to change so I can standardize both?

Cheers appreciate it

They will only be the same if the time coverage for both items are the same and you set the option on the TPO Profile for "Value Area Highlight Based on Volume" to be "Yes". Refer to the following:
Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: Value Area Highlight Based On Volume

To make sure you have the same time coverage, the charts need to have the same Session Times. Refer to the following:
Chart Session Times

And then there are Inputs for each study to control whether you are displaying the Evening Session or not. You would need to ensure that these are set the same way. Refer to the following:
Volume By Price Study: Exclude Evening Session Profiles Except for Last Day

Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: Exclude Evening Session Profiles Except For Last Day

Thanks I've got that sorted and both are now aligned.

Wanted to check too though - for the TPO (on the left) and the volume value area (on the right), shouldn't the value levels and POC for both be lining up more? Is it a setting because I would have thought that both have a stronger correlation
