There is an interesting divergence between the values shown in the DOM vs the Chart when using the Bill Williams Alligator. If you have J L T values shown on the Chart, it displays the end point values for the shifted moving averages. If you put that as a study overlay onto the DOM, it shows the J L T values for the current time and not the shifted end point values. Consequently, you have different numbers. This threw me until I figured out what was going on. Is there a way to have the DOM current values shown on the chart as those are the more relevant for an imminent trade. I realize that a lot of the value in the Alligator is as a trend indicator, but it could be useful to have the DOM / current time values shown on the chart as an option. thanks! |

If you want the unshifted data, then set the "Displacement" value on the "Bill Williams Alligator" subgraphs to be 0. Refer to the following: Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Displacement For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

That won't give the same result as what is on the DOM with the curves where they are supposed to be per BWA specifications. DOM shows current values for the subgraphs, not the endpoints. Shifting the endpoints back still gives an incorrect value and invalidates the BWA spec. The subgraphs need to stay where they are so BWA can work properly. The current time subgraph values as shown on the DOM are the trigger values for current price crosses, not the extended end values of the subgraphs. Understand what I'm saying? It would be nice to have the BWA DOM values displayed on the chart if it is possible in some way. The numbers are being calculated for and displayed on the DOM so they exist. How do we get those on the chart? |

We do not understand what you are saying. You reference a Study/Price Overlay on a DOM and the prices of the Bill Williams Alligator on the DOM. Those prices will be the prices of the unshifted (0 displacement) values, since the Study/Price Overlay is not set to have a displacement. If you want those values on a chart in addition to the existing displaced values, then add a second Bill Williams Alligator to the chart with a displacement of 0. If you just want the end values displayed, then set the subgraphs in that second copy to be "Subgraph Name and Value Labels Only", which will allow you to turn on the Name and Value Labels without any lines being drawn in the chart. Refer to the following: Chart Studies: Subgraph Name and Value Labels Only (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_SUBGRAPH_NAME_AND_VALUE_LABELS_ONLY) If you are wanting something different, then we need more information on what it is you are wanting to do. Ok, let's try it this way: Is there a study that puts a vertical line subgraph above and below the current candle bar and updates with the next bar such that it is always and only on the current bar? This would be something along the lines of the vertical line on the chart value cursor. The vertical line stays on the current bar until a new bar forms and then it updates to the new bar with no subgraph left behind, ie, current bar only. |

Is your last question in relation to the Bill Williams Alligator? We do not understand the connection between your last question and the previous posts. To answer this last question, use the "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" and set the following: - Number of Bars to Calculate: 1 - Automatically Clear from Before 'Number of Bars to Calculate': Yes Set the "Color Bar" subgraph to have a Draw Style of "Background" and set the color and thickness as you want it. Set the Alert Condition on the Alerts tab to be the following: =1 Refer to the following: Color Bar Based on Alert Condition Chart Studies: Background (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_BACKGROUND) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Yes, this is related. Please see the attached screencap. The Green arrows on the chart point to the end point values of the BWA as shown on the right. Those get displayed on the chart if you want to see the Values. The Yellow Arrows on the chart point to the BWA spot that is under or over the current candlestick. This is very different from the endpoint values. You will see on the DOM yellow arrows pointing the values for the BWA and those values are 1) the values that the current bar would cross, not the end point values; bars never cross the end point values as they are shifted. and 2) these DOM values match the values on the chart for the current candlestick bar as noted with the yellow arrows. If you are using the BWA values to trigger trades, the yellow arrow values are the ones that would be used, not the green arrow values at the endpoint. The BWA displays the shifted endpoint values on the chart, and I understand that, but it's the values under the current candle that actually matter. These are displayed on the DOM correctly. I am trying to see about having those values noted in the chart. The Color Bar on Alert Condition will probably work but it would be cool if there was an option in the BWA settings to show the DOM values on the chart as those are really the most valuable points. I hope you understand what I'm describing here. thanks! https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1725923987176.png https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1725924125210.png https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1725924199768.png |

There are several ways to get the value of the Bill Williams Alligator subgraphs at the last bar. Take your pick of the following methods: - Use 3 copies of the "Spreadsheet Formula" to reference each of the subgraphs. This will stop at the last bar, so you can pick off the value from that point. - Use the "Spreadsheet Study" to get the values. The study information in the Spreadsheet Study will not show any forward data, so the most recent bar will show the values for all 3 subgraphs at that bar (or any other bar for which you are wanting information). Refer to the following: Spreadsheet Formula Using the Spreadsheet Study: Order of Study Data Outputted to Spreadsheet For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
