I turned my auto trade on and left and when I came back a short trade was opened and closed with attached orders but for some reason theres a long order open without without any attached orders on it. It doesn't make sense because every order placed has a targert and a stop attached to it. Please help asap because this order is still open and i dont want to close something that may be a glitch of some kind

Look at the Trade >> Trade Activity Log for what the source of the order that opened that position was:

You can confirm your actual position in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions.

I really need to know what happened here because there's no way that should've executed. What info do you need to know to expedite the process of what exactly happened? I'm new with the software so this isnt an appropriate time for me to try and figure this all out. I need help now.

All of the trades the auto trade made closed at 8:05 by hitting a child order. Then this long trade came in at 8:41 and it didnt have attached orders so it is still open.

I know I didnt do it because i just got back from the hospital and nobody else was here... so what happened

We need to see the Trade Activity Log for the order in question. Here are the instructions:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php#TradeActivityLogToSupport

Are you using Scale In or Scale Out functionality?:

It is a difficult process to go through the log to understand exactly what orders are working at a certain time.

These lines indicate that Sierra Chart was not running for a period of time and then when it was started, there were orders on the server that had filled when it was not running. If those were Attached Orders, then the OCO functionality would not work and would result in an unexpected position.

When Sierra Chart is started, there is a Trade Activity line added like this:
Order 2013-05-07 14:47:54.000 Sierra_Chart Sierra Chart started Unspecified

There is not one added when Sierra Chart is stopped. Obviously someone stopped it and started it.

There could have been an abnormal shutdown. We have seen instances of that in the Rithmic software that we link with that triggers the shutdown. Although this is uncommon and we tend to think that did not happen but you would have a better clue if it did. This is why we do not want to use API client components . We explain this here:

However, if there was an abnormal shutdown, then someone must have manually started Sierra Chart back up.

Now that I think about it though, I don't think that orders on the server would make sense because The actual order that initially put the trade on was short. Therefore the order that is currently open had to be an attached order because it is long. So, the long attached order would've had to be on the server. Am I missing something?

There absolutely 100% was not an abnormal shutdown because I had surgery this morning and my wife went with me and the hospital was over an hour away. Impossible. Out of curiosity, could this happen if my internet provider went off-line temporarily?

We also see many lines with a Order Action Source of:
Rithmic historical fills data (Restored)

These are added when Fills are not received in real-time which indicates an Order Fill occurred when Sierra Chart was not connected to the server, had lost connectivity, or for some reason the server did not send the real-time notification of the fill. What the reason for the lost connectivity is, The Trade Activity Log does not indicate that. The Sierra Chart Message Log will give you an indication of that.

Rithmic provides Historical order fills for the current trading session. Any order fills beyond that, are not usable because they do not have a unique ID.
