Hi guys,

I have recently spotted something really annoying. I was advised a while back that if I want to have "default chart settings - bar type, links, graphics, etc..) -> the best approach is to setup a chart and then using "Duplicate Chart" to replicate it as many times as I want. This has worked perfectly for me, until I started trading EUREX symbols.

Issue: when switching to a EUREX symbol with different Session Times - they are not reflected in the chart settings.

How to replicate:
1. If you open MES from Find Symbol - you get CME session times (14:30 21:00, ...)
2. If you open GBL from Find Symbol - you get EUREX session times (08:00 16:30, ...)
3. Problem comes when in my MES chart I decide to change the symbol to GBL -> instead of changing the session times to the correct ones - I still get CME session times. This is a problem in case you have multiple charts - some CME , some EUREX and you want to quickly switch between contracts. Escpecially if you are like me and you use both cash and evening session volume profiles.

I trade 4 markets during the day depending on some indicators and I always have 4 charts setup in a specific fashion. I would like to just be able to say /GBL-######-EUREX in one of my charts and get the right session times even ifi the previous symbol shown in the chart is coming from CME...

Maybe this is not a real problem and it comes from my lack of understanding of the platform, but please, any help would be greatly appreciated, this is bugging me every day.

All the best,
Spas

If you want the Session Times to update to what is entered for the symbol when you are changing symbols on a chart, then you need to set the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart" to "Yes". Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Apply Intraday Session Times To Intraday Chart (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Intraday Chart Session Times menu)

Actually, sorry I think it's not entirely fixed.

I just checked if I am using the / syntax for selecting a symbol -> I can successfully inherit the session times of the current symbol, BUT if I am in Watchlist Mode and I click on a symbol from the Watchlist associated with my chart - we keep the old session times regardless of what symbol is selected :(

Any ideas how to fix that ?

We are not able to reproduce this. When the option for "Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart" is set to "Yes", then regardless of how the symbol is changed (we just tested the Watchlist in particular for this) the Session Times are changing.

Make sure the symbols you are comparing have different session times assigned. And make sure the chart that you are using for this has the option for "Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart" set to "Yes". This is a per-chart setting.

Confirmed, I restarted Sierra and it worked. Not sure what has happened when I first did the test.

I also checked the MNQ default hours are different from MES, I guess this threw me off. MES ends at 21:00 while MNQ is 24 hours with no evening session.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the help!

All the best,
