In "Window" I hide message log.
And I minimize log and drag it to edge of screen.
That does not stop it from stealing focus and reappearing on top.
Docs say it won't steal focus. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Log to FILE would be far less instrusive... and more like other programs.

When the Message Log opens, does it actually get the focus where the title bar actually becomes active? It should not.

Before you minimize it, you need to re-size and position it out of the way if you do not want to be in your way. Minimizing it is not enough.

If the Message Log is opening it is because there is something going on that you need to be aware of.

There is 0% chance we would ever log to a file only. That would be a massive deficiency in the understandability and usability of the software.

As I said, I drag to edge of screen, minimize. Log sticks itself on top of chart.
I have read the messages and find little to justify the interruptions.
For example, scanning a series of symbols to find which are too thin to trade does not
help me to be told that no data were found -- I can see that... after I move log out of
the way.
By the way, my monitor is large enough that I could allow log a small window near edge, if log were just well behaved.
[[Actually, that might work, though wasting space.]]

The Message Log should not be opening if a data file is empty. There must be some other message that is causing that.

Also, if you move the Message Log to the edge of the screen before you minimize it, it is not going to move from that position. Is it?

Oh, yes! Expands and overlays chart.
Too bad there is no copy to file.

There is a trade service log also. Make sure you resize that and move it to edge of screen.
It pops up like the message log also. I have both resized and off screen.

I'll watch for that.
SC should let users choose off or near edge for both logs as DEFAULT,
so a small pop-up could be useful, instead of this bad behavior.

Oh, yes! Expands and overlays chart.
If this is actually happening it will be a system issue on your side. This does not happen in our testing and there is no reason why it will do this.

In no case does Sierra Chart reposition or move the Message Log.

The only thing it will do is restore it from a minimized position but it will not become active. When Sierra Chart restores the Message Log from a minimized position, it will be positioned in its previous position and size. The operating system does this. But the position and size will not change from what it previously was.
