Hi,

I am trying to figure out what my latency (ping) is between my trading station and Denali data feed and how to get it as low as possible.

I can see multiple addresses in my message log for denali data:
ds13.sierracharts.com (Nevada, Las Vegas, ping 56ms)
ds14.sierracharts.com (Falkenstein, German, ping 100ms)
ds24.sierracharts.com (Frankfurt, Germany, ping 101ms
ds32.sierracharts.com (Indianapolis, Michigan, ping 12ms)

As my goal is to have lowest latency possible and my trading station is in Chicago, is there a way to set preference for a server or geographical location to be used?
Is there even closer server, I could choose from?

Thank you

First, the only addresses that would ever be used would be Chicago and Michigan for CME data. Las Vegas is only a backup. It is not possible to connect to that location for CME data unless you expressly specify it.

Not sure why you are not getting any of the Chicago addresses since that is most of them. For example DS28.

Hi,
thank you for your reply.

A few things to address:
I did not choose the servers I am connected to. The servers I mentioned in my first post are just servers I found in my message log.
Q: How can I find out which server am I connected to at this very moment other than in message log? Is there a way? This would be appreciated.

You say "unless you expressly specify it" - is there a way to set a preference to certain server/servers?

DS28 - I can see this server in my message log, but only in (what I think is) relation to historical data: HD Request # 40 | Using server: ds28.sierracharts.com port 10149
the four servers mentioned above are in relation to Denali " Denali Data Feed | Connecting to the server ds13.sierracharts.com. Port 10048"

Is there a way to preset preference for Chicago servers?

Thank you

Rajkumar123: Set Status for Service Package to '10 - Integrated Standard' till 2024-08-13.
Rajkumar123: 93 days of usage time added at Service Package (10).
You have to reverse read through the Message Log, in order to look at what particular server you are currently connected to for each particular service being connected to.

You say "unless you expressly specify it" - is there a way to set a preference to certain server/servers?
Yes for CME you can:
Sierra Chart Server Settings: CME Exchange Data Feed Server Address and Port Override (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Special)

This server you would not be able to connect to unless you expressly specify it:

the four servers mentioned above are in relation to Denali " Denali Data Feed | Connecting to the server ds13.sierracharts.com. Port 10048"
