Hi, I have 2 computers, on e at my job place, one at home. I would like to permanently have the same settings on both computers as I trade in the morning (office) and the afternoon (at home) I use exactly the same login/password on both computers for accessing Sierra Chart Are there portability possibilities to avoid adjusting constantly any of the chartbooks? I checked the chartbook sharing feature but it does not apply to same login/password user Thanks for your feedback |

If you are wanting the Chartbook to be the same chartbook you worked from, then you would need to copy it between the computers while Sierra Chart is not running on either system. The chartbooks are stored in the folder named 'Data' under your main Sierra Chart installation folder (typically this would be C:\SierraChart\Data, but could be different on your systems). The chartbooks have a file extension of .cht. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thanks, I tried already. Even though copied from a computer to another one, once launched on the second computer, some features are missing, I had to reset all the "chart settings" especially those related to "session times" let me try again with both Sierra chart instances being shut down |

Tried again today, nothing is changing therefore the proposed solution of copying the chartbook from a computer to another one does not work

When you copy a Chartbook from one Sierra Chart installation to the other, all of the Chart Settings will be identical. The only thing we can think that might affect the Session Times is if the Time Zone setting is different between the two Sierra Chart installations: Time Zone Setting Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Let's start with the Session Times. What is the Global Time Zone set to on both instances? You will find this in "Global Settings >> Time Zone". Also, in the chartbook you are using between the systems, for one chart where you have an issue, what is the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Time Zone" set to? the same, I live in Europe (France) and everything is set to "use global time zone", I have customized intraday chart session times to take into consideration time zone differences session start time:15:30:00 session end time: 22:59:59 I use evening session time evening start time: 00:00:00 evening end time: 15:29:59 the same settings are on both computers. Following your logics, I should have copied my chart book and everything would have been set the same, my singularity/exception is that I had to reconfigure fully the chartbook on the second computer I seem to be wasting my time writing all these lines, it just does not work, I should just accept it |

You should not have to redo the Session Times given what you have stated. If there are other items that you needed to update, then we can go through them one-by-one. You may not have copied the Sierra4.config file from your first computer, which would mean you would have to setup the settings to match your first computer. The file Sierra4.config contains all the global settings. We are a bit confused at this point - did the Session Times show up properly when you copied the chartbook from one computer to the other, or was there an issue? If there was an issue, what exactly was it? How much difference was there in the times?
