Hello SC, is it possible to share SC data-feed market depth between 2 instances of SC for the same symbols (via connection to the remote instance), taking in consideration that both copies are connected to the same trading account? Or should I subscribe for 2nd data-feed package? Didn’t find that in documentation. Thanks.

Yes this is possible. Refer to the documentation for the Use Non-Chart Data from Remote Instances setting:

I tried but I got a constant error message which I can't get rid of. Please advice. The log pops up once I open any market depth. Please also see screen attached.

In the copy of Sierra Chart where you are using data from a remote copy which is connected to the Sierra Chart Real-time Exchange Data Feed, uncheck Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds.

So to be clear, this will be in the copy which this Message Log you posted is from.

Thanks, that removed log popping. Though in this case I get an IB’s “max number of market depth requests has been reached” error message immediately. I have 2 DOMs with IB's feed running in the 1st instance. In other words, TWS recognizes any market depth requests from the 2nd instance as a data request from IB. So, no more DOM with IB data can be opened neither in SC nor in TWS. Any suggestions how to avoid or fix this?

We do not know all the details of your configuration to give specific instructions.

If you are using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data feed, then all of the market data will come from the Sierra Chart Data Feed and there will be no market data requests to Interactive Brokers unless you have set the Trade and Current Quote Symbol in Chart Settings in the instance that is not using the Sierra Chart data feed, but even if you exceed any symbol limits in that case, it is harmless because the market data will not be used. So we are not understanding the problem.

OK. Yes, I'm using SC data feed (CME package). Trade and Current Quote Symbol fields are left blank in both copies. What exact details do you need to know about my configuration?

Finally, to avoid any confusion, I closed both copies of SC, then started the 1st instance without any charts, and tried to open 4 symbols in the 2nd instance. Please find the log of 2nd instance below. Please also find screenshots attached. If i try to open any IB's feed symbols (i.e. ICE or EUREX symbols)in any copy then, there will be no market depth for them anymore. But in fact there were no any charts running that used IB feed. Hope that helps to understand the issue.

Update. I've restarted the machine and now it's working as it supposed to. And maybe I was too fast switching between ICE symbols/SC copies (or IB's API was too slow). However, the problem seems to be resolved for now. Thank you for your support anyways.

This is good. What we were going to have you do is restart Sierra Chart again, and open one new chart from a remote instance through File >> Find Symbol and let us know if a market data request to Interactive Brokers occurs. It should not. We tested this.

The only explanation is although these charts you have posted an image of, are identified as using data from remote instance, they may be using data from the same instance.

We are going to add additional logging to Sierra Chart to clearly identify this.

I restarted both copies of SC and opened a chart for 1 symbol in the 2nd instance as requested. Please see the log below. But please bear in mind I already have 3 IB's depths running in the remote instance.

We have discovered the source of the problem and it will be resolved in the next release.

Sounds good. Though that problem is irrelevant anymore. I can share, swap and interchange market depths for any symbols from both SC feed and IB feed (within range of 3) between 2 instances. That's exactly what I needed. Thank you. Have a great WE.

Hi SC, I’ve updated SC to ver 1166 and it doesn't seem requesting data from IB anymore. But another problem arises. The destination copy now is able to receive market depth only for symbols that are already have a market depth running in the remote instance. Charts’ data are unaffected (bid/ask are probably too but can't confirm that). So, in other words, if I want to receive a market depth for a symbol in the destination copy, I must start and keep market depth open for that particular symbol in the remote instance. Once the market depth closed in the remote instance, it stops updating in the destination copy. Logs don’t show any errors. Please see the screenshots attached. On the first screenshot none of the symbols are running a market depth in the remote copy. On the second one 3 symbols have market depth in the remote instance (after opening trade DOMs in remote instance for them). What could possibly go wrong this time? Please advice. Thanks.
Upd. What's interesting, a market depth for IB feed symbols keeps working in the destination copy once it closed in the remote copy. (But again, it doesn't appear in the 2nd copy until opened in the remote instance).
