I'm having connection issues with rithmic this morning. It seems the feed is delayed at times and it takes forever to place/modify orders. I usually get the following error message:

Trade Order Error - Rithmic DTC order report (Order reject). Info: SendOrder returned error code when submitting order request: 11. Internal Order ID: 3433. Service Order ID: (none). Symbol: TF FMU0014!-NYBOT | 2014-07-17 11:46:12

Is there any issue with rithmic?

I'm using SC 1137 and Deep Discount Trading is my broker.

We apologize for the delay with responding. We needed to research the particular error code you are getting.

We are going to implement descriptive error codes rather than numbers for Rithmic.

Code 11 means the following:
API_NO_HANDLE

We need to contact Rithmic about the meaning of this.

I contacted my broker and they said Rithmic was having no issue with their servers. They suggested it might have been an internet issue on my end.

But I have other data providers that I run simultaneously with SC and Rithmic and they were working fine when SC/Rithmic was having the connection issue.

Also I believe the problem may be related to running SC and R|Trader simultaneously. In the past I usually have run SC and R|Trader simultaneously without any problem. (The reason I do this is because R|Trader provides a better interface for trading options)

But this week I began having issues connecting to R|Trader and SC simultaneously. It seems like R|Trader every now and then would kick SC off the server or vice versa. So I began running SC by itself and only running R|Trader when I needed to make an option trade.

But it seems like if I am running SC, start R|Trader and then quit R|Trader then SC begins having issues placing orders, modifying orders and refreshing trade data from the server.

Also every now and then it doesn't report my fills correctly. For example today I sold TF at 1134.5 and it shows the fill at 1141.

I will inquire with Rithmic about using R|Trader and SC simultaneously to see if there are any issues. As I said before I used them both simultaneously for the past year without any problems but in the past few weeks I have noticed some problems running them simultaneously.

I wouldn't need to run R|Trader at all if SC could implement an options table Bid/Ask vs Strike, with tabs for the various expiration weeks/months.

This is what Rithmic said about the error code 11:
No Handle is an error code that can occur when you have no connection to our order entry system.

In regards to this:
For example today I sold TF at 1134.5 and it shows the fill at 1141.

So I guess the problem is that for some reason at times SC maintains connection to the data system but not to the order entry system. The quotes keep coming although a little delayed but the orders aren't always placed or modified correctly.

The TF I sold at 1134.5 was the first trade of the day and the only contract open. There was no existing profit/loss history or other contracts open that would explain why the fill would be at 1141.

Sierra Chart does not handle the connections to the Rithmic system. That is done in the Rithmic software. Rithmic uses what is known as an API component:

We wish they would not use these API components and we did try to convince them to use something else and hopefully that will come one day. So the connection is fully managed by Rithmic and we do not know what their API blackbox component does.

If you see the incorrect Trade Service Average Price in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions, then contact Rithmic about this.

This is an indication you are running Windows XP. You will need to use Windows 7. Otherwise, go back to the Sierra Chart version you were running previously. For instructions, select Help >>Install Previous Version.
