I need to have live data for a symbol go into an excel sheet. I need this in an external excel sheet using EXCEL not the built in sheets in Sierra. How do I do this? Usually in other programs there is a DDE link. Thanks. |

This can be done using the Spreadsheet study: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SpreadsheetStudy.html You need to use the Use Excel input: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SpreadsheetStudyInputs.html#UseExcel Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I added the current price line study to a chart and I don't see the "Use Excel" study input. Its not there. Can you please explain how to get the current price for an instrument to go into Excel. This should be a simple thing and not some complicated process. I cant use the built in excel sheet in sierra because I need this data for a large custom excel sheet I have built. All I need is to get current close data to go into excel. simple. |

The way in which this works is through the Spreadsheet study. Here is the documentation for the Spreadsheet study: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SpreadsheetStudy.html It is the Spreadsheet Study that has the Use Excel input.
