Hi:

I was trying to connect my SC to Rithmic in order to trade my new Apex evaluation account. (I currently use Teton order routing and Denali data for my Philip capital account)

The instructions on your site said to update SC which I did to the latest version. After doing so I tried to connect to Rithmic by doing; Global Settings / Data trade Service Settings using Service (List): Rithmic Direct DTC [trading] and Server: Apex - Chicago Area Non-aggreated and entering my username and password. I got a connection error.

Then SC hung up so I force quit SC. I connect to SC on my MAC using Crossover. After SC hung up, Crossover lost the bottle for SC so I installed a new bottle to SC. Now when I login to SC I do not see any of my settings or my chartbooks. How do I retrieve my SC settings and chartbooks?

Please help! Thanks

This is probably related to Crossover:
Then SC hung up so I force quit SC

How do I retrieve my SC settings and chartbooks?
We are not very familiar with Crossover or Mac. However, wherever Sierra Chart was installed to previously there will be a Data subfolder containing your Chartbooks and the main folder will contain the Global settings in .config files.

Do I follow:
Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation

Or do I follow:
Updating Existing Installation of Sierra Chart with Files and Settings from Another Installation

Or do I follow:
Simple Transfer/Copy of Sierra Chart Installation to Another Folder or Computer System

In order to fix this issue?

thanks

The first step is to locate the prior files. Are you able to find them on your computer system? If you can search for the Chartbook files which have CHT extension this is the first step.

All I can find is the new installation of SC with the ExampleChartbook.cht.

I do not see any of my other charts. Will I have to go to my external backup drive to locate my files? What has happened here?

I can locate this on my external backup drive. Should I copy the files in the folder called "Data" from the external drive to and overwrite those in the new installation's "Data" folder? see attached screenshot. thanks

If you have the files you need in that backup, then follow the instructions at the following link to copy the specific files listed to your Sierra Chart installation:

It looks like the files in that particular Data folder are the default installation files and they do not have your own Chartbooks.

Do you see your own Chartbooks in that Data folder?

I have found my own Chartbooks and installed them on a second instance of SC which seems to be running fine now. I will use the original instance of SC for my personal account and the second instance for my Apex account,

Now when run the second instance of SC and try to connect to Rithmic by doing; Global Settings / Data trade Service Settings using Service (List): Rithmic Direct DTC [trading] and Server: Apex - Chicago Area Non-aggreated and entering my username and password

...I either get a connection error or SC hangs up and I have to Force Quit. How do I solve this issue?

See attached screenshots

Thanks!

Since you are using Wine/Crossover follow these instructions which also apply to network connection problems:
Resolution of Poor Network IO Performance under Linux/Wine

For the Rithmic permission error, refer to:
