Hi There,

I am having trouble entering trades with market stops.

I have looked through the documentation and I see the reason for the rejection in the link below:

Order Types: Rejection of Stop Orders Beyond Last Trade Price

However, the order will sometimes fill. I trade NQ with a group of other traders whom also use Teton and they say that they are able to enter the same trade with stops on Teton, they have not encountered this issue. I always enter with a sell stop below last or buy above last.

I tried to use "Market if touched" but this is not supported on Teton, is there any other order type that will mimic this behavior without the use of a study?

Many Thanks

Are you saying that you want to put in a Sell Stop (for a Long position) above the last trade price?

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I am entering shorts by placing a stop market sell below last and entering longs by placing a stop market buy above last.

I essentially aim to be swept into the trade.

Thanks

Then you would need to use a Stop Limit order type. Refer to the following:

The same issue arises with a stop limit.

The use of limits is not suitable for my trading as I am left without a fill on the majority of the time.

I would use a study to trigger a market order but I need to be able to move and cancel orders on the DOM very fast and the study is too cumbersome for my purposes.

Thanks

The first thing to do is to make sure the order type and the side (Buy/Sell) are correct. Check the Chart DOM settings:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart DOM Settings

Assuming that is how you are submitting the order.

I have checked those settings and have also compared them to the settings of other traders.

The orders work as expected on sim.

Hi,

Some further information on the above issue:

The issue first arose last year whilst I was completing a scholarship at a London prop firm.

Once I was given my account and went live, these stop rejections would happen intermittently. Rejections were more likely during volatility but would still occur when the market was quiet.

I was routing via CQG as that was the only Sierra comparable trading service offered by the firm (TT was primary). The firm contacted CQG who said that they believed the issue was latency related.

I spent several months trying to rectify the problem but it ended in me having to leave the firm so that I could use Teton routing. I was sure that the issue was CQG related.

The issue has persisted on Teton. I have spent months trying to figure out the source of the issue but have reached a dead end. I have combed through the documentation and my settings to no avail. I have even had other traders trade at my office to verify that issue is not with my infrastructure and they are able to get their stops order entries filled when mine fail.

I would be extremely grateful for any help or guidance on how I can resolve this issue.
