The Spreadsheet will only be saved if you save the Chartbook. This also applies to the option for Auto-Saving the Chartbook. So one option is to turn off the Auto-Save Chartbook option. Refer to the following:
General Settings Window: Auto-Save Chartbooks (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Chartbooks)

I can confirm that the spreadsheet is saved even if you click No when asked to 'Save Any Changes...? when closing a chartbook.
Even with Auto-Save Chartbooks set to No.

There are Backups of spreadsheets made. Go to the /Backups subfolder in the Sierra Chart installation folder. You will have prior copies of your spreadsheet there.

At this point we are not sure, where the spreadsheet is being saved, other than when saving a Chartbook or the spreadsheet. We did look into this but could not identify any other place.

If you close a chartbook, and choose not to save it, the CHT is not saved, but the SCSS is saved.
This shouldn't happen.

We identified the issue. This will be resolved in the next release.
