Hi there. I hope you're doing well. I wanted to bring to your attention an incident that occurred recently where my trade window indicated that I was flat, but my broker account details showed that I was still in a position. I have already addressed the issue with my broker, but I am still unsure of the cause. Are there any steps that I can take to prevent this from happening in the future? Thank you for your help.

You state that your "Trade Window" indicated you were flat. Did you look at the Trade Activity Log or the Trade Positions Window?

Note that we use the term "Trade Window" for the window that lets you select the order type and setup Attached Orders. You access it by selecting Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart.

We want to point this out, as the Trade Window is per chart. So if you had opened an order on a different chart then the P/L may not be reflected in the Trade Window for that chart. Refer to the following:

Thank you for your reference. Yes, at the time, I did look at my Trade Positions Window but not the Trade Activity Log. As I review the Trade Activity Log now, I do not see any statement which says that I held any position overnight. Unless there were any incidents in which I somehow left an open position, I believe this primarily remains an issue to be discussed with IronBeam. Nonetheless, I wanted to reach out in case Sierra might have an independent insight about this. Thank you for your time.

Be sure to check with your broker for the final word on what you have open or not.

At some point, when you do not have any open positions, see if Sierra Chart is also noting that this is the case in the Trade Activity Log and the Trade Positions Window.

If Sierra Chart is not matching what your broker is states, then let us know.

Thank you. Also, I ask this on behalf of my new broker. Does Sierra offer anything to the extent of auto-liquidating? I am also curious about this, however, I find that the Profit/Loss management feature works well. Is there anything else similar to that?

The only item built into Sierra Chart for this is the Profit/Loss Management. Refer to the information here:
