sc.AddAlertLine(msg, 1) is not opening the alerts log

Hi, Did something change here, or is there global setting that is causing this? Using v2361. Add Alert does NOT open window. Add Message does open window. Both calls in same piece of code. sc.AddAlertLine(msg, 1); sc.AddMessageToLog(msg, 1); Can you confirm this is an issue, or please advise what I might have changed to cause this? Thanks! |

There is a setting in Global Settings >> General Settings >> Log which prevents the Message Log from opening. Make sure that setting is not enabled.

Everything under Global Settings >> General Settings >> Log is set to No. Alert Log still not opening by default. Really confused at what setting is preventing this from automatically opening. Even tried from a Color Bar Based on Alert Condition. Same thing happened. Alert in the log, log window not opening by default. Also, if alert window is open and behind another window, I can see the new alert get added to the window, but window does not come to foreground. (testing during replay) Also, once I click on Sierra to stop the replay, the alert window comes to foreground at that time, so Microsoft Windows is not busted in that sense. Unsure how else to troubleshoot. Appreciate any help you can offer. I am assuming this is working for you guys and you don't have a repro. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-01-06 23:29:10

Yes this is true: but window does not come to foreground.

Hi Sierra Engineering, Did you make a change in 2486 related to Alert Window opening not opening up? Installed v2486 last night, and now without changing anything else, Alert Window pops open when previously closed as expected and how the Message Log window has worked all along. |
