please help me understand why >Reconnect on Failure = Yes< did not work as I expected

I have a laptop which I'm grooming for live trading. Today @ 13:47 (log below) it lost connection to the server, and apparently didn't attempt a reconnect. Data/Trade Service Settings / Common Settings / Reconnect on Failure is set to "Yes", so I don't believe that's the issue. @14:53 I opened it from the lock screen with my password, and at that moment it reconnected, but not before, although it was not asleep. I set it up, as far as I can tell, identically to another laptop which I have been testing 24/7 for 6 months, and that laptop has never had this problem. Could you please help me understand why between 13:47 and 14:53 Sierra Chart did not make an attempt to reconnect? OK, understood. For those interested, it turned out be the Wi-Fi card sleeping, not the computer. The solution was to restore the "Power Management" tab to Device Manager properties menu by adding a key to the registry, which made it possible to uncheck the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Thanks!

I checked the event log and it shows "connected standby", which is strange because in Power & Settings I have sleep set to never. Apparently that's normal in Windows that you can set sleep to "never", and still have the computer go to sleep? When I made the registry change, it also disabled the S0 sleep mode, so that explains the fix. But I still don't get why Windows enters "connected standby" when Sierra Chart is running and using CPU. That makes no sense to me. Thank you again very much!

posting follow-up for those who may have the same issue, my laptop was going to sleep with Sierra Chart running although plugged in and sleep set to "Never" in "Power & Sleep" settings, Windows 10 There is a sleep state which is not technically "sleep" as defined by Microsoft, but still results in Sierra Chart shutting down. It is called Modern Standby (S0). If you want to check if this sleep state is activated, you can check with "powercfg -a" in the CMD windows with administrator rights. In my case it was activated, and I deactivated it, also in CMD (admin) by adding a key to the registry: reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0 If you would like to deactivate "hibernation" to be safe, you can do it in CMD (admin) with "powercfg -h off" For reference, on my laptop when I now check my sleep states it looks like this: C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -a The following sleep states are not available on this system: Standby (S1) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Standby (S2) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Standby (S3) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Hibernate Hibernation has not been enabled. Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Hybrid Sleep Standby (S3) is not available. Hibernation is not available. Fast Startup Hibernation is not available. I hope this fixes the issue permanently. I don't know if this is at all helpful, but when I searched the board for similar information, I did not find anything.
